NYC Events: Spring EGGStravaganza 2006

Each year, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation hold their annual "Spring Eggstravaganza" at Central Park's Rumsey Playfield (entrance at E. 72nd Street and 5th Avenue), Naumberg Bandshell, Dead Road and Bethesda Fountain. It's a fun day (from 11AM to 3 PM) of free activities including egg dying, arts & crafts, knitting clinics, a petting zoo, performances by Puppets in the Park and a live appearance by Peter Cottontail.

Since small prices and candy-filled Easter eggs are given to kids who participate in various games, bringing a basket for collecting the goodies is highly recommended.

P took S and a friend to this family-oriented event this morning and they took part in the relay,

tug-of-war,

and after posing with a mascot and getting valuable pointers from a soccer "coach",
they also tried their hand (or should I say "feet" at soccer.

I got first dibs at the loot that S got today...
