On the float was no less that the legendary "Master Showman" himself, Mr. German "Kuya Germs" Moreno (Above in blue jacket, holding S' arm). S was a bit wary about meeting him at first. She thought it was a bit strange that one would get excited about a person that goes by the name: GERMS.
Anyway, showbiz icon Kuya Germs has come a long long way. He got started in showbiz about 5 decades ago by initially working as a Janitor and telonero of Clover. He eventually became an Actor, Director, and a very popular TV Host of shows such as: "That's Entertainment" and the long running Sunday Variety Extravaganza: "GMA Supershow". He is better known now as a bona fide StarMaker. He also had a long reign as President of the Actors Guild. In honor of his contribution to the entertainment industry, he was bestowed the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Film Academy of the Philippines some years ago.

What's a parade without a float carrying actors/celebrities/TV personalities? This year, the float was sponsored by Hot Dog Productions International. They were promoting their latest venture with the Pinoy Chronicle Magazine.

It's good to know that Filipinos in New York still remember their country. You may want to check out the article that appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer today about the NY Independence Day Celebrations at www.news.inq7.net/nation/index.php?index=1&story_id=78739
I also take pride in seeing Filipinos who strive and work hard, succeed in their goals. Thanks for the article!! =)
