Musee du Louvre

Here are 3 of the 18 statues (birds, extra) in Jardin des Tuileries. The garden is situated in a neighboring field to the West of the Louvre Museum.

The Tuileries Garden was started by Catherine de Medici and began as a royal pleasure garden. It got its name from the fact that it was made on the site of tileworks (tuileries), within the old walled city on the banks of Siene River.

Sniff*. "Ees it steenky here, or ees it just moi?"

Pyramide du Louvre - One of President Mitterands' "grand projets", this steel structure sheated in reflective glass serves as the main entrance to the Louvre Museum complex, connecting to the galleries below the courtyards. It is countered by 2 smaller pyramides which provide additional light and ventilation.

The Louvre - one of the largest palaces in the world, opened to the public as a national art museum in 1793.
