We LOVE Lifeguards!!

We always think that lifeguards, with their tanned, toned bods are just a part of Summer's "eye candy". They perch on their small white tower all day - occasionally blowing their whistle to warn some blockhead that they're swimming too far away from shore, flex some muscles, then get busy slathering themselves with suntan lotion. Today, a sure tragedy for one family was averted by these bronzed hunks. We finally got to see the lifeguards IN ACTION!!

It started with a sighting of heads bobbing in the water. Faster than you can say "Omigodsomeone'sdrowning!", a couple of lifeguards darted past where we were sitting and had already sprinted to the water - swimming to not one, but two swimmers in distress.

A helicopter (Search & Rescue, I presume) hovered above as they swam their way back to the shore, ferrying the exhausted swimmers on their neon orange buoys.

Yeeeey! Thank goodness the man (in black speedos) and a young girl made it. They looked pretty shaken but were able to walk to solid ground.
