Welcome to CANCUN, MEXICO!

We got stuck inside that plane for a good 45 minutes. I don't get it. Mexico has like a traffic of hundreds of tourists a day, and they send out one bus to pick up passengers stuck in 4 planes whenever it rains. How efficient was that? Anyway, by the time we got seated in the shuttle bus, the rain had finally stopped and so did our bickering. I took a Club Med vacation the 2nd time I went to Cancun and our hotel's vibe was the total opposite of that party hub. Quaint with a "Mexican feel", more relaxed pace, pool with a few kids... Great!! The last thing I needed right now was for some hyper GO to drag me by the poolside at noontime to do a cheesy "Sun Dance".

It was after 2 pm and we were starving at this point. Huh... Diet? What diet?? Bring out the tacos and Dos XX's, amigo! Right now, por pavor. The shrimp cocktail looked and tasted more like shrimp ceviche (who cares!), and the fish ceviche was sooo good - with picante habanero sauce on the side. The tasty marinated pork tacos disappeared before I even got a chance to take any pics. Soon, we were mingling with a few other guests - the plane landing fiasco forgotten...

S. didnt waste any time frolicking around by the pool and threw a short fit after she was told that she will actually have to wait for 30 min before we could unpack her swimsuit. (Hey, I had to savor my food!)

As we scoped the place, we noticed that there were a lot of (fat) cats lolling around by the planters and by the pool... Confident that the joint was rat-free, this made me enjoy my tacos (*wink-wink*) even more.

Here's one taking his mid-afternoon nap

Cat to me (giving me the evil eye) : "What you lookin' at? Get out of my face! You're blocking my sun!"

The best part was that our room had a beachfront view (from what the killer typhoon "WILMA" has left of it) , a big terrace, and a room with... 4 beds. 4 beds. What did they expect us to do, play musical beds if we get bored? Oh well, I think there's a saying that "if life gives you 2 more extra beds in a sunny resort, you...." CALL YOUR COUSIN!! And that's what I did. If all goes well with his frequent flier miles ticket, JD will be joining us by Friday PM.
