Good Eats: MEXICAN FOOD!! (Cancun, Mexico)
LA DESTILERIA RESTAURANTE http://www.cancuncare.com/restaurants/la%20destileria.htm
Dang!!. If I had known this wasn't just a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, I would have taken more time in getting dressed and added an extra 5 min. on top of that to put my "Game Face" on. Oh well - too late. So sans make-up, we were seated at a table facing the Marina in 5 minutes. We started off with a Mojito for me and a (virgin) Pinacolada for S.
The food was really delish. Having a Filipino palate, S thoroughly enjoyed the Marinated Pork and Chicharon (crushed crunchy pork rinds) Tacos. I had the Fish with green Coriander/Portabella Mushroom sauce topped with crispy Taco strips. Unfortunately, due to time constraints - we couldn't linger over dessert and had to skip the caramel crepes (again!) and the Tequila Factory Tour.
We took a few moments to enjoy a performing Mariachi ensemble, and then rushed back to P with a ham and cheese baguette (from a nearby french cafe) and more bottles of Gatorade in hand.
